Using artificial intelligence and advanced image processing algorithms, SmartShading AI is a mobile app that transforms smartphones into easy to use shade matching systems. Using the system takes less than one minute as a simple image of the tooth and if necessary the stump are captured and calibrated against a shade tab used in the same image. The app provides a suggested shade, but the results can be adjusted, and the software learns from each use to provide more accurate results the more it is used. While no personal or protected patient information is used in the app or the shade matching, the shade and related images can be sent to any dental lab or referral partner along with a custom code which can then be included in the formal prescription to protect patient information.
